Not recommended if you’re looking for answers. (ironic isn’t it?)
Basically a place to say what you think to anyone who’ll listen (even if no one listens), but mostly a place to say what you think of someone’s question, but that’s it, it stops there.
A lot of patronising (disguised) preaching.
example :
“who have you thanked today”? (the person obviously doesn’t care who you thanked, but is pushing you to think about who you thanked and why you didn’t if you didn’t, supporting the dogmatic belief system he or she belongs to)
Hardly any “discussions” take place, not much “talking” except for superficial stuff.
No real “collaborative” investigation into life’s big questions (as the FAQ claims).
On the positive side, the “censorship” and moderation is quite flexible and open. Meaning that if you have something to say, in almost any form, you basically can (within reason). However chances are if it doesn’t “fit” to their framework and/or agenda, chances are any comments you’ll get and/or replies will be off topic and irrelevant to the question you’re asking.
Quite a few arrogant self righteous “rationalists” on a crusade to prove “religion” wrong.
Quite a few “mental” people as well “there is no spoon” “embrace the universal love existence of true being within the 3rd eye of your ass” and so on.
I personally don’t trust the SP team at all.
SoulPancake is more of a mission than a Web site. It’s a MOVEMENT to wrestle with and chew on LIFE’S BIG QUESTIONS. It’s a way to EXPLORE why we believe the things that we believe. It’s a place for you to TALK about your soul and the existence of God. It’s a space to ENGAGE in art, philosophy, creativity, truth, and beauty. And ultimately, SoulPancake is a community of people who are digging DEEPER to figure out what it means to be human and to experience this rich, strange, difficult, and awesome journey called life.
SoulPancake is whipped up by a supremely talented, devastatingly good-looking, team of writers, editors, software engineers, artists, musicians, filmmakers, and all sorts of other creative geniuses from all over the world—including Los Angeles; New York; Chicago; San Francisco; Washington, D.C.; Dallas; Nashville; Portland; Boston; London; Tokyo; Toronto; Seoul; Brisbane, Australia; and more.
Actor Rainn Wilson co-created this site with two of his friends, Joshua Homnick and Devon Gundry. SoulPancake sprang out of their desire to create a space where people from all walks of life could discuss and question what it means to be human—a place to wrestle with the spiritual, philosophical, and creative journey that is life. They sat around one night trying to figure out what to call the site, and eliminated Spirit Waffle (too square) and Soul Casserole (because, let’s be honest, casserole is a bitch to spell) before settling on the tasty SoulPancake.
Life’s Big Questions tackle those topics that we all think about but rarely talk about—you know, the ones that gnaw at your innards but by bringing them up you’re risking conversation suicide. We are going to go there (and wherever ‘there’ is may not always be pretty) so dive in and speak your mind.
Last question I posted there.
Goodbye’s too good a word babe, I’d rather say fare thee well 😉

What are Life’s Big Questions?
Life’s Big Questions tackle all those topics that we all think about but don’t always get a chance to talk about—you know, the ones that gnaw at your innards but by bringing them up you’re risking conversation suicide. We are going to go there (and wherever ‘there’ is may not always be pretty) so jump in, question away, and speak your mind.

I realised there was nothing new about the “you” questions.
Indeed, this was 3 years ago :
where do you feel the most creative?
where is your favorite place to go think?
what makes you happy?
does not knowing what happens when we die bother you?
Where do you go to find inspiration?
If you could ask God one question, what would it be?
If you had one hour left on earth, how would you spend it?
How Do You Respond To Fads?
If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
What would you do if you weren’t afriad?
If you could go back and tell yourself as a child one thing what would it be?
I don’t know how or why I didn’t see this all this time.
Look : “the ones that gnaw at your innards but by bringing them up you’re risking conversation suicide”
can you see the irony?
Hope you manage to swallow it down once you’ve done chewing on yourselves.

PS for those who can’t read between the lines either:
It ain’t no use to sit and wonder why, babe
It don’t matter, anyhow
An’ it ain’t no use to sit and wonder why, babe
If you don’t know by now
Don’t think twice, it’s all right
We never did too much talkin’ anyway
So don’t think twice, it’s all right
I’m a-thinkin’ and a-wond’rin’ all the way down the road
I once loved a woman, a child I’m told
I give her my heart but she wanted my soul
But don’t think twice, it’s all right
(no “bold” so I’ll repeat) : I give her my heart but she wanted my soul
I’m walkin’ down that long, lonesome road, babe
Where I’m bound, I can’t tell
But goodbye’s too good a word, gal
So I’ll just say fare thee well
I ain’t sayin’ you treated me unkind
You could have done better but I don’t mind
You just kinda wasted my precious time
But don’t think twice, it’s all right
